We are searching for an experienced and motivated Senior EWP Technician to join our small team in East Tamaki.
About us
We are a successful, access hire equipment company based in East Tamaki. Our equipment is centred around Elevated Work Platforms: Cherry Pickers, Scissor Lifts, Knuckle and Telescopic Booms, Mast lifts to name a few.
About the role
A full-time role reporting directly to our General Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the workshop and yard to ensure our equipment is well maintained, serviced and certified “ready for rental” within agreed service level timeframes.
Tasks you will undertake (not limited to):
- Diagnose, repair, maintain and undertake periodic inspections to “certify” our rental fleet.
- Read, understand and apply hydraulic and electrical schematics to fault situations.
- Manage and conduct electrical tag and testing certification of equipment battery chargers as required to ensure compliance (full training provided if not already trained).
- Attend to breakdowns and repairs in the field in a timely and efficient manner.
- Oversee equipment returns to the yard including de-hire inspection, controls check, wash (yard) and return checklist completed.
- Ensure scheduling and completion of 90-day routine inspections on all equipment within set timeframes, including any equipment out for hire.
- Conduct quarterly ETT test and tag cycles.
- Comfortable with technology to ensure systems are always kept up to date with relevant information.
- Order and source parts within delegated authority and required stock levels.
About you
With your experience in a similar role, ideally having worked with elevated work platforms, heavy plant equipment or forklifts, you will be motivated at the opportunity to take charge of our workshop and yard and all the responsibility that comes with it.
Skills you will bring:
- Extensive hydraulics and/or electrical experience a must.
- Hold or can attain a level 1 CBIP / EWPA Certification.
- Great communication skills: both written and verbal, able to interact with customers within the workshop and onsite.
- Experience or the ability to lead and/or mentor junior team members.
- Understands what it is like to work as part of a team and is as comfortable working independently.
- Positive, can-do attitude, willing to go the extra mile.
- Customer service and delivery focused in all that you do.
- Good time management.
- Hold a current and clean driver's licence.
